I doubt he is a rip-off, but the Joker may have been inspired by him. The Joker was created a while back so (depending on how long ago Ichi the Killer was made) he might be a completely original idea.

Btw, if the Joker was a rip-off, it wouldn’t have anything to do with Heath Ledger. Heath just acted the part given to him. He didn’t pick out the costume, make the script, or come up with the slit cheeks. Well, that I know of….

Wow, I’m so glad there are a few people in this world who share my view of HSM. ‘one big rip off’. Footloose, is probably a good guess…(though, I was in that, and have a love for that play and movie….so that doesn’t make me the least bit happy.) but the good news is, it can’t stand up a bit to the classics, so once the hype goes down, it should die.

I don’t know, maybe Footloose. Frankly, I don’t really care because I don’t like HSM. If you’ve ever seen it on stage it really, really rips of Grease. All the boys and listening to Troy’s story and all the girls listen to Gabriella’s story. (Both go on at the same time)

Nothing is sacred anymore. Nevertheless, I would be okay with Rent, West Side Story, Cats and a few others I can’t think of at the moment.

~~Some people have no choice, they just need a paycheck. Some people don’t care and need a pay check.

As for the government, well we have seen too many government officials are as crooked as it gets, so it is just doing good business in their eyes. Lets hope for real change in our corrupt government system!~~

Interesting ethical problem you face…you want to buy something which someone (the bootlegger) has ripped off (from the artist/performer/group) but don’t want to be ripped off yourself. That aside, dealing in person and in cash is usually the best way (unless the bootlegger is a UC cop), then the ‘cuffs just get on your wrists a little faster.
